The Medicines Management Team works on behalf of NHS North Yorkshire CCG to support the development of services to ensure patients and the NHS get the best out of medicines.

This includes helping to optimise prescribing, reduce waste and improve patient understanding of their medicines.

The CCG is also working hard to reduce the unnecessary prescribing of antibiotics to help tackle antibiotic resistance, and is encouraging patients to seek over-the-counter medicines instead of a prescription, in some instances.
