Safeguarding

Safeguarding is a term used in the United Kingdom and Ireland to denote measures to protect the health, wellbeing and human rights of individuals, which allow people - especially children, young people and vulnerable adults - to live free from abuse, harm and neglect.

Further safeguarding information can be found via the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership and North Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults Board.

We each have a responsibility to take appropriate action when we know or suspect an adult or child may be at risk of abuse or neglect.
